Thomas asks Den and Dart to fix Ol' Wheezy the log loader. Individually, they fail, but eventually Thomas realises that Den and Dart need to work together to successfully fix Ol' Wheezy.

Thomas is given the job of pulling the express, but it is too heavy for him. Not wanting to admit defeat to Gordon, Thomas leaves some of the carriages around the island, leaving the important passengers stranded.

Thomas is asked to keep the crows off Farmer McColl's freshly seeded field, but thinks don't go according to plan when the little tank engine decides to chase two crows across the island.

When Gordon is involved in a collision at the docks, his bufferbeam falls off. Unable to work without his buffers, Gordon has no choice but to use a set of diesel buffers until Den and Dart can repair his broken ones.
