Die 80. Verleihung der Golden Globe Awards fand gestern im Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills statt. Trotz Jubiläum ließ es sich Moderator Jerrod Carmichael sowie einige Preisträger nicht nehmen die Veranstaltung sowie die Veranstalter zu kritisieren. So begann der Komiker seine Moderation mit folgenden Worten und machte damit klar was einer der Hauptgründe ist, warum die Golden Globes in den letzten Jahr im Fokus der Kritik standen:

"Ich werde euch sagen, warum ich hier bin. Ich bin hier, weil ich schwarz bin. Ich werde nicht sagen, dass sie eine rassistische Organisation waren. Aber sie hatten kein einziges schwarzes Mitglied, bis George Floyd starb. Also macht mit dieser Information, was ihr wollt."
