After so many sad events in Betty's life, she can't seem to get her life into perspective. She denies that she is wrecked by the fact that Henry is leaving. Amanda on the other hand is shocked after discovering who her real mother is. Of course, Wilhelmina is right around the corner arranging to take advantage of everything going on around her.

Daniel and Alexis remain in the hospital following their car accident. Betty must break into Wilhelmina's apartment to get 'The Book' for Daniel to review. Betty and Christina are almost caught in the apartment when Wilhelmina and her bodyguard come home for lunchtime tryst. When Wilhelmina discovers that Betty knows she offers Betty help in getting Ignacio home in return for Betty's silence. Meanwhile, Hilda and Justin deal with Santos death and Mark and Amanda deal with Halston, Amanada's legacy.

Betty tries to avoid thinking about her problems with boyfriend Henry and focuses on helping Daniel in the annual Mode benefit event but suddenly encounters the new sandwich cart employee, Gio, who both fascinates her and challenges her to follow her dreams. Henry has to face ex-girlfriend Charlie after finding shocking news about her pregnancy. Wilhelmina finds new ways to drag Alexis back to her side. Ignacio is in Mexico facing a deadly threat from his past while Marc and Amanda plan new ways to publicly promote Amanda as Fey Sommer's daughter.

A prospective major advertiser threatens to leave Mode unless Daniel fires his transsexual sister Alexis. Meanwhile, Betty reads another writer's story in her creative writing class and things spin out of control. Justin goes through a rebellious stage failing an algebra test and making out with girls.

Betty tries Internet dating but Henry gets jealous and shows up at the bowling alley. Meanwhile Alexis' memory returns when she and Daniel have dinner with Bradford and Wilhelmina. Back in Queens, Hilda joins the widow set until Justin gets arrested. While in Manhattan Marc has to choose between chunky and hunky when he gets dates with a buff underwear model and the film buff photographer who's shooting him.

Daniel happens to attend the musical Wicked where Henry and Betty are having a date, as he brings a date of his own, a potential advertiser for his magazine. Betty tries to hide the fact that she is dating Henry by pretending that Gio is her boyfriend. Justin finds out about his mother Hilda's new unconventional job. Marc and new boyfriend, Cliff, have to face problems of their own.

Ignacio is slated to become a citizen but Betty may not attend the ceremony because she and her Dad have fallen out over Betty's dating Henry. Meanwhile Daniel tries to stop his father's wedding after discovering that Wilhelmina has been cheating with her bodyguard. Wilhelmina is worried that her maid of honor Posh Spice might steal her spotlight. Marc and new boyfriend, Cliff, have problems of their own.

Wilhelmina plots her next moves in the wake of the Meade-Slater nuptials.

When the entire memory of Mode's computer network is erased, the staff scramble to remake the issue before the deadline.

Unable to decide who their father left in charge of the Meade Empire, Daniel and Alexis settle the matter with a paint ball fight inside MODE offices. Trying to spice her love life, Betty drags Henry into a double date with romantic assertive Gio and her very outgoing sister, Hilda, at a lively reggaeton club. Wilhelmina faces financial problems in new launched Slater Magazine and tries to improve her public image ending in a total media disaster as she ran over Betty White by mistake. Amanda and Nick finally settle their differences.

Daniel struggles to deal with Alex running Meade Publications following their paint-ball showdown, while Betty campaigns for healthier models for this year's fashion week show.

While the whole Meade family is involved in Claire's trial on Fey Sommer's murder, Betty comes upon a perfume that makes her go hyper-mode and drives both Henry and Gio crazy about her. After violently breaking into Gio's deli and ending in a hospital, Betty and her family discover the deadly truth about the mysterious perfume. Amanda has a moral dilemma regarding the past of her late mother and Wilhelmina, with the help of Marc, will try the impossible to make Christina agree to join her in her mischievous plans.

Encouraged by both Gio and Henry, Betty accepts her first writing assignment and ends up researching picking up artist techniques. Daniel is fascinated with a new woman, Renee, who is more related to him than he is aware. Amanda continues her search for her father. Claire is determined to start a new magazine against the will of her children. Henry tells Betty how he feels about Gio and Betty has to make a decision about it.

Betty has romantic dreams about how she'll spend her 24th birthday but when Charlie, Henry's pregnant ex-girlfriend, shows up, bent on regaining Henry's attention those plans seem fated to go awry. While Betty tries to make the best of her complicated romantic situation, Ignacio, Hilda and Justin would like nothing more than to see Betty enjoy another happy birthday with family. Even Gio intends to make Betty's birthday a happy one in his own way. Who will win out? The fates, family, or friends?

Increasingly delusional, Renee thinks Betty is in love with Daniel.

Henry's pregnant ex-girlfriend Charlie continues to disrupt Betty and Henry's remaining time together. Betty decides to once more try and befriend her by throwing her a baby shower. Back in Queens, Hilda must meet with Justin's PE teacher who's threatening to fail Justin for non-participation. In the aftermath of his breakup with Renee, Daniel's womanizing gets out of control. He agrees to see a therapist but when the therapist turns out to be a beautiful woman...

Still missing Henry, Betty fights her attraction to Gio.

When Gio makes Betty a romantic offer, Henry shows up with a proposal of his own. Meanwhile Daniel must confront the results of an earlier dalliance. Back in Queens, Hilda continues her romance with Justin's coach but must decide how to proceed when she learns something upsetting.
