Ibrahim quells a Shi'ite rebellion led by Kalender Celebi (1527) and returns home. Suleyman at last makes a move on Isabella, whose fiancee was released after ambassadors paid a ransom.

Bali Bey kidnapps Armin and hides her in Matrakci's palace. When her father looks for her, Matrakci lies him that Armin is not there. Armin's father complains to Ibrahim Pasha. Isabella feels embarrassed after Sultan kisses her. Sultan gives a maid necklace to Isabella. The princess initially rejects it, but then wants to wear, when Hurem sees the necklace, thinking it was made for her. Hurem gets angry and threatens Isabella. Meanwhile, Ibrahim has been exposed to toxins from his diary and now is seriously ill.

Armin decides to return to her father, so as not to cause problems to Bali Bey. Hurem gives a gift to Isabella, with a snake in a box. Frederick is aware of Isabella actually being alive and sends a letter to Isabella. Hurem visits Valide and accuses her of disrespecting her, even if she bore three heirs to Sultan. Valide replies that her son has his own harem, not one woman only. After Hurem is asked by Valide to vacate her royal chambers. When Sultan visits the princess Hurem's gifted snake appears and bites Isabella.

Sultan manages to save the princess after the snake bite. He also brings his personal physician to examine what has happened to Ibrahim Pasha. The physician tells that Ibrahim had been exposed to a deadly poison, but manages to save him. Ibrahim transmits the poison from his diary to his baby. When Hatice falls asleep with the baby, the next day the baby is found dead. Ibrahim accuses Hurem of poisoning his son and him and threatens to expose her past relationship with Luca to Sultan. He brings the painting of Hurem painted by Luca and his diary to Sultan.

Suleyman does not understand the language of the Crimea and urges Hurem to read out the contents of the diary. Hurem feels cornered and fabricates the contents of the diary. In the meantime Sumbul Aga comes forth and informs that Hatice tried to commit suicide. Whilst Sultan and Ibrahim run out, Hurem tries to get rid of the diary and throws it in the garden. Ibrahim manages to prevent the escape of Isabella and he knows that this was the plan of Hurem. Hurem feels happy thinking that Princess Isabella has gone from the palace and gives Gul Aga gold to organise celebration with a dance party in the harem, however, Valide stops all celebrations.
