#TheGrudge has been saddled with a messy, nonlinear narrative from the beginning and 2020 makes way better use of it than 2004. Has more of an anthology feel, and it mostly comes together quite well. Nasty little movie with a great cast. Far too reliant on jump scares, however.

Idk how they did it, but #TheGrudge is 13 hours long. Uninspired & cliched, this is a mess of a horror film with a brand name slapped on it. I would love to see the production check list.

I loved the 2004 #TheGrudge but the 2020 version feels five times its 1.5 hour runtime, is exceedingly dull, can’t maintain any atmosphere/tension, falls back on unearned jump scares, is sadly all too predictable, & the closing credit song made me want to stab out my ear drums. pic.twitter.com/VS9aK1LL28
